Brow Lamination.... What is it?

Brow Lamination is something new in the beauty world BUT how it works is an oldie but goodie. It is a perm! A perm for your eyebrow? WHAT!? I know we all think perms “curl” but they don’t “curl” they set the hair permanently, for the life cycle of that hair, to what ever shape you want! So if you want your brows to be more fluffy or your eyelashes more curly we can use the same concept of the 80’s perm for a more cutting edge service. How does it work? The first solution pretty much tells your brow hair “forget its current shape” and the second solution says “Let’s get fluffy”. The second solution sets the brows in a shape that makes them look more full helps them stay in place when you use a brow gel.

Before your appointment…. DO NOT TRIM your BROWS! WE need all the length we can get. That is what helps us fluff them up and make your brow look fuller. A wax and trim is included in the service. Come in with realistic expectations. Everyone brows are going to look slightly different. If you do NOT want fuller brows this might not be the service for you. If you do not have any natural brows you wouldn’t be a candidate. Brow hair is a must to preform this service. If you are not sure you are a candidate send us a photo of your natural brows in good lighting.

What to expect? It is a 45 minute appointment that induces and wax, shape, trim and lamination. There are two steps to the brow lamination the debonding that is what makes your brows forget their old shape. We cover the brow with plastic wrap and then wrap with a headband for pressure. The first step takes about 10 mins and sometimes depending on the coarseness of the hair we may apply heating pads. The second step is the setting so it remembers its new shape. This takes about five minutes. After this is done we trim to your liking and wax. This service lasts up to 8 weeks. We only want to do this service on your brows one time and in 8 weeks you have a whole new set of fresh growth and ready to laminate again.

GUESS WHAT? We can also add a brow color (tint) or henna after the lamination! The Brow color tints your hair so this is great for blondes and those that are looking to make their actual hair darker. If you have gaps the color will not cover these up that is more for Henna. A brow color lasts up to 8 weeks. Henna stains the skin behind the brow as well as colors the hairs of the brow darker. This is great for those that have light to dark hair and need a little more fill in behind their brows. It stains the skin for up to 2 weeks and the hair up to 8 weeks.

Let’s talk about expectations. This is something that is hard to be honest about, we want to tell every client they are going to have the best brows we have ever done. Bottom line is, results vary. Is trying a service at least once to see if it is for you? ABSOLUTELY! Give it a try but know that your brows may be the most amazing things you have ever laid your eyes on or they might not turn out as amazing at your friends that got them done last week or the perfect photo we posted on Instagram. Why do I talk about this? Because sometimes clients feel like we can turn very little brows into a thick and full brow and are disappointed with the results. We have to work with natural hair, thickness, growth patterns, length, client goals etc. Human beings are all so different so the results are also going to be different. Give it a try and see what you think this is a great service with great results.

Home care. Your brows will not stay up all fluffy for 8 weeks. Gravity is against you BUT with a little brow gel they will stay up amazingly. When you do your makeup in the morning set your brows with a brow gel clear or tinted and you will be set up for beautiful laminated brows that are much more manageable then they were before. It is our new favorite service and we hope it sticks around for a long time!

Book your appointment with our trained professionals! We can’t wait to transform your brows.
